“My motivation is to give something back. I’ve been a member of the Scholarships Committee for a long time and it has been fantastic to see the people applying for both graduate and postgraduate awards – especially those who are struggling because of their background. I’ve seen the incredible talent and dedication that they have.” Trevor Grimshaw BA, IEng, HonFIET A motivation to give back “Many of us probably wish to contribute to the work of the IET in some way. Some take part in the IET’s various activities, but it’s often difficult for us to fit this into our already busy lives. Another way you might like to consider supporting the IET is by a gift in your will. One of our key roles is to encourage and support students and trainees through scholarships, grants and bursaries, but this needs funding. Scholarships and bursaries encourage the brightest and the best to become engineers, even those living in difficult circumstances. I’ve met some exceptionally talented and enthusiastic individuals who have benefitted from this support. You might like to think about leaving a contribution to support and encourage the engineers of the future, as my wife and I hope to do when the time comes.” 2018 in review A look ahead Thank you Our donors
