Our impact Faraday Challenge Days FIRST® LEGO® League Jr. FIRST® LEGO® League Jr. Discovery It takes teamwork, problem solving skills and resilience to overcome engineering challenges. The thousands of children who take part in one or more of our STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) competitions each year demonstrate prowess in all three. It’s fantastic to see them engaging with our events, as for most, it is the only time they will experience engineering in action at school. This year, we expanded the age range to include younger children, and we are proud that even more schools from hard-to-reach areas took part in our challenges. 189 Faraday Challenge Days delivered (2018/2019 season) 52.4% of participants were girls 818 teams taking part in 2018/19 season 43 Expos across the UK and Ireland FIRST® LEGO® League 820 teams took part in the 2018/2019 season 57 regional tournaments around the UK and Ireland Pilot extended into 2019 and funded by the LEGO® Foundation plus IET match funding £ 6,800 students engaged (2018/2019 season) Global launch on 1 August 2019 29 schools took part across two pilots, engaging children aged 4 to 6 years 2018 in review Thank you Our donors A look ahead
