Access multiple IET web platforms through single sign on We’re introducing a new, single sign on service across our web platforms, providing a more streamlined and secure user experience. This service will enable you to access multiple IET web services including theiet.org and the IET Digital Library through a single log-in session – so no need to remember multiple passwords in future. You’ll also have the option to log in using your preferred social media account from Facebook, Google, or via your Volunteer Office 365 account if you have one. For added security, we’re offering the option of setting up two-factor authentication. To set up two-factor authentication, you’ll need to supply a preferred mobile or telephone number so that the system can generate a one-time passcode for you to use each time you log in to a new session. What’s changing? When the new service goes live, you will see a new log in screen that will prompt you to migrate your log in details to the new self-service portal. This process is quick and simple, taking just a few minutes, and we’ve created a set of ‘How to’ guides and videos to walk you through it. If you provide updated details through the log in screen, please be aware that these won’t automatically update your user details in MyIET. This will need to be done separately. If you haven’t logged on to our web platforms for a while, please log in when the single sign on system goes live and make sure your login details are migrated. For FAQs and our ‘How to’ guides on registering for single sign on, please visit theiet.org/sso-faqs Advance notice of business system replacement work We are replacing some of our major business systems to improve our service to you. To enable us to do this, many of our systems that require you to log in will be temporarily unavailable between Wednesday, 24 July 2019 at 5.30pm BST and Monday, 29 July 2019, 9.00am BST. Please look out for more details available soon on the IET website.
