Now in its fifth year, the event is returning this summer on Friday, 26 July 2019. Organisations across the UK will open their doors to children and their parents to demonstrate just how creative, exciting and innovative engineering can be. Amazon, EDF and Tower Bridge plus IET London: Savoy Place are just some of the venues to sign up so far to host a range of activities, from behind the scenes tours to inspiring talks and demonstrations. In the coming weeks, more venues and activities taking place on the day will be announced on our Engineer a Better World website. Last year’s event featured over 50 separate events across the UK and attracted more than 5,000 young people and their families. Engineering Open House Day is one of several initiatives that make up our Engineer a Better World campaign, which encourages young people and their parents to think differently about engineering.
