b'Meet Mike and Kim Adams, co-founders of Adams Thermal Foundation. When Mike and Kim met in northwest Iowa, they did not realize the journey of faith that was ahead of them. God was already at work in each of their hearts bringing an awareness of the plight of the vulnerable and a call to extend mercy to those in need.As a young boy, Mike had a sensitivity for the hurting and hungry around the world. This sensitivity stayed with him as he grew up and went to work as an engineer. After Mike and Kim married, together they sought Gods purpose in order to have a life-changing impact on those in need. In particular, Kim felt a strong call to make a difference in the lives of children, and her concern for the orphan led them to consider future adoption. While raising their five young children, Mike and Kim took a step of faith and bought the struggling manufacturing company in Canton, SD, where Mike worked as chief engineer. This company, acquired only by Gods intervention, became Adams Thermal Systems. Dedicating the first fruits to the work of God, this organization touched lives in the local community and around the world. Kims strong call to the needs of the orphan and adoption led both of their hearts to the country of Ethiopia. The confirmation of this call came individually to Mike and Kim in ways only God could orchestrate. In 2008, they brought their first adopted daughter home. Over the next six years, Mike and Kim adopted three more children from Africa.During this time, Adams Thermal completed economic, medical, and educational projects in Ethiopia and saw Gods love for the poor and His redemptive power firsthand. In 2013, an unexpected challenge developed that required another God-dependent decision of faith. Because of changing national policies in Ethiopia, two schools in Hosanna and Ottoro were scheduled to close unless an organization came forward to take over all operations. Mike and Kim had only served in a small capacity as economic supporters of these schools up to this 8'
