While the ongoing pandemicin a variety of ways, from virtual talks and exhibitions, to competitions and certainly changed how we delivered our celebrations, ourunlikely collaborations, reaching further purpose remained the same: to use our year as a platforminternationally than we have ever done before. A few events were even lucky to reach beyond the engineering community, and deliverenough to take place in person too! Thank exciting and unexpected activities to change perceptions you to each and every one of youour and inspire the next generation. members, volunteers and partnersfor your support in making this year such a success.A new bedtime storywith a STEM twistWith nearly a thousand entries to go through for The Times/Chicken House Childrens Fiction Competition, the team had a near-impossible job of whittling their manuscript piles downespecially the STEM-related stories submitted for the IET 150 Award!We sponsored this award to put engineering and technology front and centre of childrens fiction, helping to raise awareness of our great industry and continue tochallenge outdated stereotypes.Our final three shortlisted entries, from Belgium, the UK and Australia, were revealed in August, and the winner has now been announced.And what a story it is!Check out the winning tale attheiet.org/150-fiction'
