b'Youth Leadership SummitMore than 500 students from various school districts attended the Youth Leadership Summit, held prior to the Annual Professional Development Summit in March of 2024. The activities utilized speakers, literature and the arts to share educational messages. Focusing on the anniversary of the Brown v. Board of Education case, the students also participated in a workshop entitled, Chronicling the History of Brown v. Board. Parent Empowerment SummitMore than 200 parents from school districts throughout California participated in one of the pre-events of the Annual Professional Development Summit in March of 2024. Throughout the sessions, parents were able to share information and positive messages relative to how they can assist their children in their educational journey.Health and Wellness for Students and FamiliesCAAASA Cares is dedicated to advancing outcomes and fostering wellness within Black and Latino communities through targeted outreach efforts that strengthen health literacy and provide essential services to families in California. Using strategic partnerships with various school districts, local entities, government agencies, and corporate partners, CAAASA Cares is able to offer attendees vital healthcare services such as: blood pressure checks, prescription eyeglasses, flu shots, childhood immunizations and dental cleanings along with providing free diapers, groceries, clothing and backpacks filled with school supplies. Each event includes food trucks, vibrant music, and diverse vendor engagements, at no cost.'
