Apprenticeships are for everyone, from all levels, experiences and backgrounds. There are many positives such as hands-on experience, paid degree, salary, work packages, equipment and resources provided, exposure to a working environment and extra support from your organisation. Its a lot of hard work, but if you like to keep yourself busy and think you will be able to balance working and studying, then an apprenticeship is for you, she says.Future plansSelvanathan plans to continue her career as an engineer. This year she aims to complete her Engineering Technician (EngTech) professional registration and wants to one day achieve Chartered Engineer (CEng) status. In the meantime Im gaining experience in robotics and Id like to explore a career as a robotics engineer, creating technologies and machinery impacting the lives of people worldwide. My dream is to work for NASA, helping to develop technologies to travel in space and machinery to explore planets.
