Keenly aware that excess food is often wasted in the food industry, our team has partnered with Food Rescue Detroit to repackage and donate our unused food. Having rescued 12,200 lbs. of unused food in 2023, weve provided tens of thousands of meals to community members experiencing food insecurity. At the same time, weve also been able to ensure that we are doing our part to reduce the amount of waste going to local landfills. -Terence Tarver, Executive Chef at Saint Johns Resort.Employee Housing Each of our Humanitarian Hotels provides high-quality employee housing. At The Inn at Stonecliffe, extensive renovations and new construction will ensure that employees live in comfortable, modern housing once the hotel opens in 2024, setting a new standard for employee housing on Mackinac Island. Studio apartments at Saint Johns Resort in Plymouth, MI, and the Hilton Garden Inn in Laramie, WY will provide better housing options for employees while also allowing the hotels to employ and house refugees.Work-Study ProgramSaint Johns Resort participates in Loyola and Detroit Cristo Reys high school work-study programs, where, inexchangefortuition, studentsapprenticewithacorporatepartneronedayperweek throughout the school year.
